Once again its the end of the summer and I find myself wondering where exactly this summer went. I swear last week was June, but the calendar would say otherwise since October is days away.
So, how did I spend my summer?
I had tickets to U2. The concert was cancelled due to Bono's need for back surgery. I won tickets to Lilith Fair. That concert was cancelled along with 10 other performances on their tour due to low ticket sales blamed on the recession. Kenny Chesney was not touring this summer, so I didn't get to see him this year.
There were babies born! Staci and Clay welcomed Kelsey Jo, Em and Brady welcomed MaKynna, Jenn and Mike welcomed Tyler, and then Robbie and Kara welcomed Robert Lee IV.
There was the wedding of Kristen and Karl. And then the wedding of my longest and last roommate Anna to Kevin.
My dear Jeremy friend moved back to Cali. I'm happy he's closer to family, but I miss him. Good thing we have our pact for our annual trip. Speaking of moves my dad and his wife and Bekah and Carson moved to Idaho Falls. That makes them 3 1/2 hours away instead of 12.
Since I was saving to buy a home I didn't travel. Except when Pili and I were invited to a fabulous weekend in Bear Lake. That was an awesome weekend of sunshine and playing in the water - for me as much as Pili. Other than that the only sunshine I got was from time laying out in the backyard.
And then there was the move to storage. Followed by living out of my suitcase in my coworker's basement for 2 weeks. With the grand finale....... moving into my very own house!
Most definitely not my most eventful summer. Or the most action packed. Maybe the least miles ever travelled. And even though it was chaotic and tough, it was probably one of my favorite summers ever. Not many events in my life compare to buying my first home. Its taking some getting used to. I'm still pinching myself that this has happened. And loving every minute of it!
