The last 3 days have been bizarre in my world. Let me explain....
Friday I got a call from my health/dental benefits people. They were telling me that I had recently changed my address and I was now out of the area for the medical & dental benefits I have been in. WHAT???? I promptly went to my HR department and they explained that my city's new zip code wasn't in the system so when I updated my address my new zip code wasn't recognized, thus making me out of area for my chosen benefits. The nice HR girl added my zip code to the system and next Friday that info will transmit to the health/dental benefits people and I'll be back in my chosen plans.
Saturday night I was heading to bed and had my laptop in my arms and my water bottle in my mouth, hanging on to the straw by my teeth. The water bottle fell and hit my coffee table which was a sheet of glass. The table was 14 years old and had a small chip on the edge from one of my many moves. The crack in the table went directly out to the existing chip. I'm not mad it broke, just found it weird that a 14 year old piece of glass with an 11 year old chip finally cracked and broke.
Sunday morning I was surfing Craig's List and found an almost identical coffee table for $25. Thank goodness for moving sales! I thought that was a fabulous price so I called a friend with a truck and headed to the ATM machine. At the bank I pulled up to the ATM and inserted my bank card paying no attention to the screen. I've been a member of this bank for 4 years and I know the screen has various bank ads flashing on it that don't require my paying attention to. The thing is today's message was one I should have read. It was a red screen with a handyman holding a wrench saying that the ATM was out of service. Oooooops! The machine took in my card but wouldn't spit it out no matter how many times I pressed the cancel button. As I was driving away I heard a click sound and when I reversed back to the machine I saw it had spit out my card!! I was so relieved! After finding a different ATM and getting cash, my friend and I went to get my new table. And it looks great in my living room!
Here's hoping my trifecta of weird ended with incident #3 today and tomorrow can be a little more boringly normal.

4th of July
This year I spent the 4th of July with my cousin Phil and his wife Brianna. I really have loved getting to know Phil as an adult since he's been in Utah for about a year and a half now. We didn't really know each other growing up, but he's a fabulous guy and his wife is pretty great as well!
Before their friends came Phil and Bri asked me to be their soon to be born daughter's godmother. They aren't Catholic, neither am I. The title is more of an honor, I'm responsible for their daugher should anything tragic happen to them. And most importantly, I've got free reign to spoil the little girl. How fantastic?!?!
I also tried a new recipe that was fantastic. It was a little time consuming, but they were tasty and so cute and such a hit with all the guests. Here's the link with directions: www.ourbestbites.com/2009/06/star-studded-mini-pies/
And here's a pic of me showing you how my tartlets turned out:
