This dog sitting, there was an accident. Tab took the dogs to the barn. This wasn't the first time Pili has been to the barn, but it was by far the scariest trip to the barn. You see Pili tried to play with the horse named Rex. She was biting at his feet. This is how she plays, its how Pili and Timber play with each other. Anyhow, Rex wasn't liking it so he kicked Pili. And what could have been a fatal incident turned out to be some scrapes and scratches and only needed stitches.
Thats right, an animal thats 1000-1200 pounds kicked my 62 pound Pili and she didn't have collapsed lungs, broken bones, or punctured organs. She was bleeding and needed stitches, but she lived.
The week before the horse kick Pili nearly drowned in a creek. And two weeks before that she had a limp and a sore paw. I tend to remember that these incidents come in threes, so I'd say we're safe from incidents for a bit.
I mean it when I say Tabitha was amazing in taking care of Pili. She and her hubby were so caring and tender and so worried. Being four states away, I could do nothing but believe that Pili was in the best hands possible if I couldn't be with her. What amazing friends I'm blessed to know!!
